The Beginning (Genesis 1:20-25)
Big Question - Who made the World?
This Week - Amazing Animals
MV - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1
Song: In the Beginning
Lesson: Read Genesis 1:20-25 together, talking about the different animals that it said God made. Talk about different animals and where they live.
Play Activities: 1) Match to the Patch - using toy animals you have at home put them in front of you, take turns describing where that animal would live and see if the other person/people can guess which animal you choose. Continue until all of the animals have had their homes described. 2) Create some Critters - use craft materials, boxes etc you have around the house and make an animal that lives in the sea, land or sky. 3) Animal Noises - Take turns making the sound of animals, the other person has to guess whether that animals is from the land, sea or sky.

This Week's Writing:
Finding letters in context of words is a helpful tool to see that children can recognise letters not just on their own but when they are used. Each week in class when the children are learning these alphabet poems they use a highlighter to see how many of that letter they can find. A great counting activity too.
Hey Dads!! It's Mother's Day this Sunday and I thought I'd give you a few options of things you can get your children to do to help celebrate if you don't have an idea or two already up your sleeve!! Below are some different activities you or your children could choose from to give to their mum. If you don't have a printer - no fret - get out some paper, pens/pencils/crayons etc and help them to make a card, draw a picture or make their own gift, make her breakfast or her favourite hot drink, make some vouchers for things you will help with, let your imagination run wild!!
Another use for jellybeans this week could be with maths activities you are doing. Instead of using toys or even Numicon shapes you could use things like jellybeans, counters, pasta, buttons (anything you have accessible to you at home.)
