Mrs Coe got out a salt tray for Sleepy sloth to practice his sight words today!

On the At Home Learning page, there are plenty of different ideas for getting your children to practice their sight words/word cards. In your child's reading folder they will have a ring with coloured words on it. These are the words they currently know and are learning. As this is some time without getting new words from school I have given a photocopied sheet of the words they are learning at their level as well as any previous words they've had, to continue practicing. I love doing sensory activities with the children to help learn and remember their word in class. One sensory activity we have done in class is salt trays. You can do this at home with salt, sugar or sand - putting some into a tray, plate or container and your child can practice reading and writing out the words they know.
