Sleepy Sloth's Spelling

Sleepy Sloth is spelling this morning. He had to sound out a tricky word - that. First he sounded out t-h-a-t, but it didn't make sense. Then he remembered t and h work together to make one sound - 'Th'! He thought of 2 different sentences with the word that, then practiced writing it out a few times.

I've included the full spelling list of words your child is working on (if they have finished with phonics). Some of these words they will know already but there are likely to be words that are new or they can continue to practice. Choose one word to focus on each day. Sound out the word - see examples on the At Home Learning page to see how we do this in class. Say/write the word in sentences then get your child to practice writing the word. You could highlight or colour in the words you choose to focus on together. When we are back at school I will do a test to check in where the children are up to and continue from there.

With signs of warrmer weather again today go for a walk around the block as a family! If you haven't heard of it already people around the world are putting teddy bears in their windows to create a 'bear hunt' adventure for familes. Mr Coe and I have seen 3 bears in windows in our block walk last week! If you have a window visable from your road, add one in your window too.
