Dear Parents,

What a busy and exciting week it has been! The school has been a hive of activity as we continue preparing for our production of Narnia. There has been an incredible amount of work happening behind the scenes, with volunteers finishing props, painting stage sets, sewing costumes, and helping bring this production to life.

I simply cannot thank you enough for the countless hours, generosity, and enthusiasm that so many of you have poured into this production. It truly has become a wonderful community effort, and we are so grateful for every person who has contributed in some way.

This Week's Rehearsals

This week we worked our way through Act 1, refining scenes, choreography, songs, and transitions. It is looking very promising, and it is exciting to see the story coming together. The cast have continued to grow in confidence and commitment, and we are proud of the progress they are making.

Rehearsals Next Week

Our final rehearsals before performance week are:

- Monday 6:00 - 8:00: Act 1, ALL CAST
  TECH CREW ONLY rehearsal from 3:30 - 8:00pm
- Thursday3:30 - 6:00pm: Act 2, ALL CAST

Please ensure your child arrives on time and is ready to rehearse with everything they need, including a water bottle.

Performance Week Schedule

Here is an outline of what performance week will look like: All Rehearsals and performances will be at Ashburton Event Centre

Monday

- Morning: All stage sets and props moved to the Ashburton Event Centre
- 5:30pm – 8:00pm: Sitzprobe (full cast with orchestra)

Tuesday

- 3:30pm – 8:00pm: Technical rehearsal (Tech Crew only)

Wednesday

- 8:30am – 2:00pm: Dress rehearsal
- 4:00pm – 9:00pm: Evening dress rehearsal performance

Thursday

- 4:00pm – 9:00pm: Performance

Friday

4:00pm – 9:00pm: Final performance

More detailed information about performance week, including arrival times, costumes, meals, and expectations, will be sent home next week.

We Still Need Christmas Trees!

We are still looking to borrow artificial Christmas trees for our forest scenes. If you have one we could borrow, we would be incredibly grateful if you could drop it off at school during the coming week. Please ensure it is clearly labelled with your name.

Turkish Delight Making

On Wednesday after school from 3:30pm, we'll be making Turkish Delight for the production.
If you are able to lend a hand, we would love your help. If you have a large pot that we could borrow for the afternoon, please bring it along.

Musicians Urgently Needed

We are still urgently trying to complete our orchestra. If you know someone who is proficient at reading sheet music and plays any of the following instruments, please encourage them to get in touch with me as soon as possible:

- Flute
- Clarinet
- Bass guitar

We would love to hear from anyone who may be able to help.

Supporting Our Cast

As we move into the final stages of rehearsals, we have spoken with the cast about looking after themselves during what will be a busy and demanding couple of weeks. A good night's sleep, eating well, and managing their commitments will make a significant difference to their energy and focus.

For many students, the production will need to become their priority over the next two weeks. This may mean saying no to other activities or commitments so they can manage their time, stay healthy, and give their best during rehearsals and performances. We greatly appreciate your support in helping them achieve this balance.
Thank you once again for your incredible encouragement, practical help, and unwavering support. It has been such a privilege to work alongside such a supportive school community, and we cannot wait to share Narnia with you all in just a couple of weeks.

Toilet Paper Fundraiser

Ashburton Christian School have opted into a fundraising opportunity that anyone can participate in. Purchase toilet paper online by following the link and the school will receive 10%.
All money raised will go towards opportunities and school activities. This year it will go towards ACS Netball.
