Kia ora whānau,
We hope you’re having a blessed week.
Here are this week’s notices - thank you for staying connected with our school community.
Ngā mihi nui,

This Week’s Focus:
We have made some steady progress this week, learning new dances and rehearsing songs. It was also exciting to have some of the costumes we ordered online arrive, and the students thoroughly enjoyed trying them on and beginning to see their characters come to life. A number of students have committed to attending morning tea rehearsals to further cement the dances they have been learning, and their dedication has been greatly appreciated.
It's starting to feel as though the production is really coming together. The energy, enthusiasm, and commitment shown by both cast and crew have been fantastic, and we are beginning to see all the individual pieces combine to create something very special. There is still plenty of work ahead, but we are making excellent progress and are excited to continue building momentum over the coming weeks. Thank you once again for your ongoing support and encouragement—it truly makes a difference and helps make this experience possible for our students. I have also updated the rehearsal schedule for the rest of the term. Please see below.
Next week:
See the updated rehearsal schedule here: Rehearsal Schedule
Please be aware that ALL the cast will be needed on MONDAY 29th June from 6:00 - 8:00pm (Last week of school).
Things to note:
WORKING BEE:
· We have several large stage sets still to build, along with many props that need painting. If you can help, please consider joining us on Monday evenings - starting next week, from 6:00–8:00pm (during rehearsal time), in Room 21 with Mr. Butler.
Any support would be greatly appreciated.
· Please let us know if your child cannot attend. We don’t always know if they are away or sick, so it helps us to keep records of attendance.
· Remember, Room 22 is available for students who would like to warm up any food or top up their water bottles after school on Thursday while they wait for rehearsals to start.
HOLIDAY REHEARSALS:
To continue building on all the work done this term, we will be holding two important holiday rehearsals:
Wednesday 15th July 10:00 - 3:00pm
Thursday 16th July 10:00 - 3:00pm
At school
These rehearsals are a valuable opportunity to cement the learning that has taken place so far and to work through the production as a whole. They will also give us the time needed to focus on some of our larger scenes and continue refining performances as we move closer to show time.
Students are asked to:
Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear suitable for movement and rehearsals.
Bring a packed lunch.
Bring plenty of snacks and a drink bottle to help keep their energy levels up throughout the day.
Stage Crew Reminder:
Stage crew members are required to attend Thursday 16th July. This rehearsal will provide an important opportunity for them to become familiar with scene changes and stage management requirements, ensuring that everyone is confident and prepared.
The enthusiasm, dedication, and teamwork shown by our students have been fantastic, and we are excited to see the production continuing to take shape. Thank you again for your ongoing support and flexibility. These holiday rehearsals will make a significant difference as we work towards delivering a memorable performance for our school community.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch. Please kindly let us know if your child has any prior commitments and are not able to attend either of those rehearsal days.
How You Can Support at Home:
Please continue supporting your child with learning their lines at home. All the backing tracks have been uploaded to Google Classroom, so students have access to all the songs they are learning. Mrs Wigram is available at interval times if any students needs help to learn their singing parts. Please encourage them to make the most of this opportunity.
Thank you for your ongoing support.

Dear Parents and Caregivers
The children have been working very hard on their choral pieces as we get ready to take part in the Ashburton Music Festival. A reminder to book tickets for Tuesday 16 June to avoid disappointment. Videos and photos are not permitted at this event, however, there are DVDs or USB copies of the festival available to purchase. If you would like to order a video, please fill in the attached order form and ensure it is returned to the office with the payment by Thursday 25 June.
