Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We have had another fantastic week of rehearsals, and it has been wonderful to see the progress the cast is making. There has been a significant improvement in behaviour and in meeting our rehearsal expectations. Students are arriving focused, engaged, and ready to work, which has made a huge difference to how smoothly rehearsals run, particularly with transitions between scenes. Thank you for supporting these expectations at home.
We have now completed rehearsing Act Two, and the students are growing in confidence with their lines, songs, and choreography. It is exciting to see the production really coming together as everyone becomes more comfortable in their roles.
On Thursday, we held our full costume check, and it was incredibly exciting to see the cast dressed as their characters for the first time. This gave us the opportunity to identify any final adjustments needed so that costumes are performance-ready. Your child may have come home with a small slip of paper outlining any costume items they need to provide from home. We would appreciate these being organised as soon as possible.
Christmas Trees
We are still needing a few more Christmas trees. If you are able to loan us your tree, then please drop it at school over the next week. Thank you.
Rehearsals Next Week
Monday: 6:00–8:00 pm – Act One: Prologue and Scenes 1–8
Thursday: 3:30–6:00 pm – Act One: Prologue & Scenes 1-8
Please ensure your child arrives on time with their script, water bottle, and anything else they require for rehearsals.
As performances draw closer, please remember to purchase your tickets for Narnia the Musical, which will be performed on Thursday 20 August and Friday 21 August at 6:30 pm at the Ashburton Event Centre.
We would also love your help in promoting the show. Posters are available for families to display at workplaces and around the community. Please remember to ask permission before putting up a poster. Our goal is to perform to a full audience, so please invite your friends, family, neighbours, and anyone who would enjoy a wonderful evening of theatre.
More information about rehearsal schedules and arrangements for performance week will be sent home next week. It will be a busy and exciting week, so please be prepared.
Thank you for your continued encouragement, commitment, and support. The production is shaping up to be an amazing experience for our students, and we can't wait to share it with our community.
Kind regards
Delia Fox
Director - Narnia, the Musical
